Bamenda II Council has spontaneous settlement with; a hierarchy of a service centre emerging. These service centres provide services and goods to the region, town, neighbourhoods, and quarters. Bamenda II Council area has the following service centres:

1. Central Business District (CBD) covering the Mankon main market; the Commercial Avenue; SONAC Street, Ayaba Street and Regional hospital and Food market axis. The major commercial activities include: -super markets, wholesale stores and warehouses, shops, banks, financial houses, restaurants and eating houses, private and public offices and repair services.

2. District centre of Ntarinkon Market area

3. Community center at Ntaturu Motor park, Nitob Market park, Muwatsu Market, Mile 90 Mbatu and Nsongwa axis;

4. Neighborhood centre around the settlements.

Existing Administrative and Ecological Structure:

Bamenda II Council is one of the three administrative and ecological zones of the Bamenda City Council- engulfing the urban and rural areas of Mankon, Nsongwa, Chomba and Mbatu Fondoms. The ecological zones include: - the core area dominated by central business district; followed by high density and medium density residential areas respectively. Beyond this point are the rural areas.
